This float switch is an exact match for my old float switch, which had cracked and was no longer working. It was very easy to wire this in where the old one had been. This switch, for my unit, turns off the pump if the water gets too low in the container. It hangs from the top of the container and floats in the water. The key is to get the length correct when you install it, because if you make it too short, then it will trigger too soon. And if you make it too long, it might hit the bottom and not turn over enough, therefore never triggering. You can either make it the same length as the old switch, or experiment with it till you get it right. Not difficult at all. And I saved a ton of money doing it myself!
